All about Rob J Willi...
My name is Rob Williams, I'm a hobby photographer based in Oxfordshire UK, and I love creating and sharing great images! I also get a kick out of travelling to new places around the world, especially those featuring incredible wildlife and scenery.
If I could retire tomorrow I would probably spend a lot of my time driving around the National Parks in Africa looking for wildlife to photograph but for now I'll just have to make the most of my annual holiday quota!
I normally have my camera with me when out and about in the UK. I enjoy attending and shooting UK air shows and sporting events as well as acting as the 'unofficial photographer' for the various corporate events I'm involved with as a marketing professional.
Although I'd always had an interest in taking photos through childhood, my passion for photography really started when I inherited my Grandad's old film SLR camera after he died. I was very close to him and I like to think of my hobby as part of his legacy. I am very grateful to him for introducing me to photography as well as giving me the desire to see the world.
Nowadays I use Nikon cameras and lenses to create RAW format images and then Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for my organisational and post-processing workflows. I didn't realise how important the 'digital darkroom' aspect would be when I started out in digital photography. Capturing the image is only part of the story - what happens when you get back in front of the computer can really make or break it.
